Greetings Glitter Crew,
Super excited 2022 is right around the corner! That means a new year full of opportunities complete with an exciting evolution of “YOU.”
That’s right, it’s still YOU moving into the new year, but it also means you get to transform into something more amazing than you are today.
Now I know that previous sentence just gave a few of you a heart palpitation. You may have thought, transform means change, and change is scary!
To That Thought, I Say “N-O!”
Change is the catalyst you need to become something more exceptional than you are today. If you are not changing, then you are not growing. If you’re not growing, that means you’re stagnant. And being in one place and never moving means you’re actually going backwards as the world shifts forward.
So why, if you know deep down in your heart that change is inevitable, it still makes you uneasy? It’s because of that stinking four letter word that haunts every human…F-E-A-R!
When I was a tween, I loved reading the R.L. Stine “Fear Street” novel series. Because at that young age, fear meant creepy things lurking in the dark, and I was addicted to that form of suspense. There was always an overgrown, unlit and winding street. My heart would pound as the main character decided to walk home alone on this scary road. And often, I would find myself screaming, “Turn back, it doesn’t end well, he will get you…the boogey man will get you!”
The fact that fear is depicted in society in such a terrifying way, it makes sense why we as humans are nervous with anything that sounds unfamiliar.
But here’s the truth…
Unless you are the main character in a horror novel, chances are that dark road in life is not as awful as you think. Although there are unknown twists that lay ahead, it won’t kill you. In fact, that road is the exact journey you need to take to find the 2022 version of you.
In order to chase away those awful vibes of anxiety, I’m sharing with you this free printable quote someone taught me in my tween years.
Every time you take a step down an unknown path and allow yourself to try something new, you need to say out loud…
“Hooray, today I did the thing I fear the most, excuse me while I cheer. And now I stand a stronger soul and all I’ve lost is fear.” [Click here to download]
This is a phrase I repeat every single time I push fear aside and allow myself to embrace change.
As you transition into the new year, I challenge you to embrace this same mindset.
There is so much exceptional greatness waiting for you just around the corner of fear!
Cheers to the New Year!
Moving into 2022, I pray it brings you heartache, love, tears, laughter, fear, and incredible accomplishment! With every dark moment there is rewarding light, you just need to keep pushing through to find it. I wish you all the pain and happiness of a new year because I know those emotions will produce a more exceptional version of you!
Thanks for your endless support, showing up and reading what I write from the heart. I love you to the glitter and back.
If something stood out to you, please share this message on social, pin it for others to read, and forward it to a loved one. Can you think of someone who needs to know they can embrace fear with a joyful hug? If so, pass it along.
